Polymer Clay: Basics
A 6-Week Polymer Clay Art Course
In this hands-on, creativity-filled course, young makers will discover the magic of polymer clay while building confidence, patience, and artistic skills. Designed especially for beginners, this 6-week experience introduces foundational techniques in a fun, encouraging environment where every child can create something they’re proud of.
Throughout the course, students will learn how to condition, shape, and design with polymer clay as they explore color mixing, texture, sculpting, and finishing techniques. Each week features a guided project—from simple charms and marbled beads to textured jewelry and miniature creations—allowing learners to develop their skills step by step.

🗓 Days: Tuesdays | August 11, 18, 25, & September 1, 8, 15

💲 Tuition: $300.00 per student (6-week session, includes all materials)

What Students Will Learn

Foundational clay skills — understanding what polymer clay is, using tools safely, conditioning clay, and forming essential shapes.

Color theory & mixing — learning primary/secondary colors, marbling techniques, and how to create custom colors through mixing.

Intermediate clay techniques — making Skinner blends, forming canes, and understanding how color gradients and patterns work.

Surface design & texture — experimenting with stamps, texture tools, and imprinting to add detail and dimension to clay pieces.

Sculpting & creative construction — shaping forms, adding details, working with proportions, and building themed projects like mini foods, animals, and florals.

Tuition reflects full-session enrollment and covers materials, instructor planning, and scheduling. The Homeschool Hangar does not offer proration or refunds for late starts, absences, or withdrawals.
