• Sprouts (Ages 5–8) – Wednesdays:
August 27, September 3, 10, 17, 24, October 1

• Cooks-in-Training (Ages 9–12) – Thursdays:
August 28, September 4, 11, 18, 25, October 2

• Junior Chefs (Ages 13–17) – Fridays:
August 29, September 5, 12, 19, 26, October 3

All classes meet from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Offered in partnership with The Homeschool Hangar and led by Chef Mark Hennessy, The Flavor Lab is where science meets the kitchen! This unique, hands-on course combines culinary skills with real-world science—giving homeschoolers the chance to experiment, cook, and learn in every class.

 

Each 3-hour session blends a mini-lesson, interactive food-based experiment or recipe, a tasting and reflection period, and a take-home science or cooking challenge to extend the fun beyond the classroom.

Weekly Topics Include:
• The Science of Taste
• Emulsions & Mixtures
• Acids & Bases in the Kitchen
• Heat & States of Matter
• Fermentation Fun
• Food Engineering & Molecular Gastronomy

 

Each class is capped at 12 students, with a minimum of 4 to run. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged!

The final class includes a Food Scientist Graduation, certificates of completion, and a mini Food Science Fair for families to enjoy!
