Jewelry Making: Basics

A 6-Week Jewelry Making Course

Jewelry Making Basics invites students into the creative world of handmade accessories through approachable, hands-on techniques and a variety of artistic mediums. This beginner-friendly course introduces children to the foundations of jewelry design while building patience, confidence, and fine motor skills through meaningful, mindful crafting.

 

Throughout the six-week session, students explore multiple methods used in jewelry making, including leather work, seed beading, clay bead creation, and embroidered jewelry. Each week focuses on a new skill, giving students the opportunity to learn, practice, and complete wearable pieces they can be proud of.

August Session:

📍 Location: 14070 Portico Blvd, Fort Myers, FL
🗓   Days: Thursdays | August 13, 20, 27, & September 3, 10, 17
⏰ Times: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
🎓 Ages: 8+
💲 Tuition: $300 per student (6-week session, includes all materials)

October Session:

📍 Location: 14070 Portico Blvd, Fort Myers, FL
🗓   Days: Fridays | October 9, 16, 23, 30, & November 6, 13
⏰ Times: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
🎓 Ages: 8+
💲 Tuition: $300 per student (6-week session, includes all materials)

What Students Will Learn

  • Learn to safely use jewelry tools such as pliers, jump rings, needles, and findings

  • Explore beading techniques using seed beads and thread

  • Create and shape their own clay beads for custom jewelry pieces

  • Practice beginner embroidery stitches used in jewelry design

  • Develop creativity, focus, and confidence through step-by-step projects

  • Week 2: Beading Basics

  • Week 3: Continuation of Beading

  • Week 4: Clay Jewelry

  • Week 5: Embroidered Jewelry

  • Week 6: Finishing & Celebrating

Jewelry Making: Beading

A 6-Week Jewelry Making Course​​

This course teaches children how to create jewelry, keychains and more through working with beads. Students
will learn how to use various types of beads to create different projects, including various seed bead
techniques, beading with wire and more. The course encourages creativity, patience, fine motor skills, and
confidence through mindful, hands-on crafting.

October Session:

🗓   Days: Mondays | October 5, 12, 19 and November 2, 9
⏰ Times: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
🎓 Ages: 8+
💲 Tuition: $300 per student (6-week session, includes all materials)

What Students Will Learn

  • How to use jewelry findings and tools

  • Beading with seed beads and creating fringe

  • How to create beaded jewelry pieces

  • To build patience, confidence, and fine motor skills

Weekly Journey

  • Week 1: Basics of Beading

  • Week 2: Introduction to Brick Stitch

  • Week 3: Introduction to Fringe

  • Week 4: Completion of Fringe Earrings or Pendant

  • Week 5: Introduction to Wirework

  • Week 6: Finishing & Celebrating

Tuition Policy

Tuition reflects full-session enrollment and covers materials, instructor planning, and scheduling. The Homeschool Hangar does not offer proration or refunds for late starts, absences, or withdrawals.
