Interior Design Studio

6-Week Creative Design Class

Students will explore the creative and practical world of interior design while learning how designers plan spaces that are attractive, functional, and suited to the needs of the people who use them. The Homeschool Hangar is beyond excited to partner with MarniStar Creative Studio in bringing Interior Design Studio to your students!

Throughout this six-week hands-on course, students will learn about color, furniture arrangement, fabrics, flooring, lighting, scale, and personal style. They will practice working as an interior designer by interviewing a client, identifying the client’s lifestyle and needs, and developing an original bedroom design.

Students will use paper furniture templates, room-planning tools, fabric and flooring samples, color palettes, and inspirational images to create a completed room plan and professional-style mood board. The course combines art, math, communication, problem-solving, and creative decision-making.

Each student will act as an interior designer and create a complete bedroom design for a selected client. The final project will demonstrate how the student used color, space planning, furniture, lighting, fabrics, flooring, and accessories to create a room that reflects the client’s personality, lifestyle, and practical needs.
