STAR Testing
Not sure what’s required for end-of-year testing? This option gives you a simple, flexible way to meet Florida requirements without overcomplicating it.
The STAR assessment is a computer-based, adaptive test that measures your child’s reading and math skills. As your child answers each question, the test adjusts in real time and becomes easier or more challenging based on their responses. This allows it to accurately reflect their current level in a short amount of time. Most students complete each test in about 20 to 30 minutes.
STAR Reading evaluates key areas like comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency, while STAR Math measures skills across number operations, algebra, geometry, and problem-solving.
Families can choose the testing option that fits their situation. PEP students may test at home with a parent, while county-registered homeschoolers and Unique Abilities students can choose a virtual proctoring option through Zoom.
This is a straightforward way to check your child’s progress and complete your testing requirement with confidence.
